You have to learn how to brake-slide at the appropriate moments in order to accumulate blue eco. Part of winning is luck; the other part is skill, as with all these Mario Kart-esque video games. I'd say that another large part is learning how to gain extra bursts of speed using these slide-turn maneuvers and what-not, since these seem to be a large part of these games.

I thought the story served as a fun epilogue to the whole series, but I didnt actually play it much myself. I played through the story with my cousin and he jogged the controller the vast majority of the time

Crash team racing was a fun game. It was hard though and I don't think I ever 100% it as a kid.

I liked it as a kid, but I could definitely see it not holding up

I have a copy of the game but, shortly after buying it, I found out online that non-Greatest Hits copies can corrupt your entire memory card and I haven't played the game since. I know there's a work around or two out there that may be able to get by the problem but I don't want to play Jak X badly enough to take that chance.
