But some people get 25 years for some weed.

The prosecutor was asking for 20 to 40 years too, so this was solely based on the judge's discretion and I don't see any stories that reference the judge providing any kind of justification for that kind of sentence.

And they're letting her defer sentence because she just had a baby.

I'm sure plenty of women charged and convicted for years of low level drug crimes would have liked the same courtesy

I also don't. I just saw a picture of my niece who just turned 14 and she's starting 8th grade. I felt really.. Sad looking at her because when I was 14 I had sex for the first time. And she looks like a literal child. It just made me feel sick thinking about her going that route so young.

I love how when it's a female teacher, the news goes out of its way to cover for her.
It's not reported as "pedophile" and what is blatantly grape is labeled an "inappropriate relationship".

When we see these super low sentences for sex crimes (for men or women), all i can think is about how this deters reporting and whether or not it's intentional.

Can you imagine going through the ordeal of reporting a sexual assault to the police and all the judgment and harassment that comes with that, only for a criminal trial to result in less than a year's sentencing? It's no wonder so many people choose to just move on.

But I'm not going to dismiss the issues with women reporting rape either.

I'm not surprised the victim and his family walked out while sentencing was being read. I'm just grateful the baby isn't his and he can try to get some therapy and fucking hopefully heal.

Sexual abuse is disgusting and wrong. Thankfully it was reported to the authorities.

While I think that had a part to play, to only get 60 days makes me think the judge probably doesn't care about sexual assault.
