Yeah you can't go to any restroom without some guy running aboot and politely asking to **** your ****. and to put a looney in a jar for the kween hey.

And the US is one of the other leading ones. Anyone telling you different is deliberately being a pessimist.

Some people might be in a select area where it doesn't seem all that tolerant, but the same can be said for a giant landmass like Canada. Hate crimes towards gay people still occur in sexually progressive nations, the point is the rate of occurrence is significantly lower compared to many other countries and there's more than one safer zone available to live in. Instead of being on a search for one solitary gay-friendly utopia within a nation predominated by anti-gay communities, you have multiple safer cities you can move to as a homosexual citizen of Canada or the US. That's real freedom.

And as a gay man with dual citizenship, I prefer living in the US. It's comparatively the better deal as both a gay person and a man. It's not perfect, no country really is for that. But I have found it's better for me and my husband. Excuse me if I feel a bit patriotic over it. I'm grateful.
