Everytime I see this video, I can't decide which exchange is my favorite. Either

"I'd like to speak to your manager!"
"I'd like to speak to your mother."

or

"The manager doesn't know what's going on. Haven't you ever worked anywhere before?!"

I finally got pissed off at some business who kept calling for a Paula (that's not my name) about my car insurance expiring, (what car?) after asking them repeatedly to please take me off their list, and stop calling me. I blocked them. I don't understand how they managed to get around that.

So I told her, I'm not Paula, fuck off and quit harassing me. She got pissy and told me not to be so rude. I told her to stop being a dumb-ass and she hung up.

My biggest customer pet peeve is when they argue with me about something I literally cant do anything else for.

I work for a pretty big company, and most of the higher ups arent in the office that I work out of. So when I get an irate customer on the phone who needs to speak with a manager about something, I tell them they arent on the phone system that we use so I cant transfer you, all I can do is take down your information and pass it along to them which they seem to think is an invitation to start screaming at me and giving me their life story and repeating the same thing five hundred times, as if thats going to change my answer.

God, I wish I had qualifications for a non-customer-y job .___.

I try to be very understanding of the person behind the counter. I see pharmacists every day so over time I've learned that it ain't just people being lazy most of the time, there's always shit going on back there

I would say cancer is worse. Listening to Donald Trump or any of his ass kissers. Kidney stones.

So this lady called us and goes "someone was supposed to call me when my test strips were ready". She was set up for texts and a pharmacist personally typed up a message and sent it to her 2 days ago. Whatever, I apologized anyway. I ask if she needs lancets, which we are contacting the doctor about, and she says that she had plenty but the doctor never received our request.

She shows up in store about two hours later to pick up the strips. She starts inquiring to the person helping her where her lancets are, while again raising a stink about us being too lazy to call her. I step in and remind her that we didn't have a new prescription yet and that she told me that she had plenty. She starts going off, wondering why we're lying to her when the doctor claimed to have never received anything from us. I tell her that we can follow up and she laments how our once good pharmacy has fallen.

She proceeded to recall some story of paramedics not taking her 911 call seriously to show how we're incompetent just like them. She then cites several laws, reminds us that American citizens still have rights, and promises that we'll rue the day we decided to stop helping patients. I just let her tire herself out, wished her a good day, and watched her leave in a huff.

I respect my current job too much to stoop to her level, but it's tough.

I bend over backwards for my co-workers and patients and left CVS specifically because all you got for doing that there was a slap in the face and more work. I'm a great worker, but I'm not a fool.

I once had someone tell me they knew the CEO of my company personally, and that theyd tell them I was completely unhelpful. Only problem was, they thought I belonged to a different company.

We're a small business and I was personally involved in this transaction. I know it might not be healthy, but I take that personally.

I have self-confidence issues AND I absolutely hate when people believe things that are demonstrably wrong, so it eats at me. It feels like gaslighting.

I remember when someone was waiting for a prescription to be filled at CVS and they lost their shit when the person who did the data entry answered a phone. I guess she thought the entire pharmacy should hold hands and follow every step of her prescription before handing it to her on a velvet pillow and applauding.

You shouldn't take being called incompetent personally unless it legitimately was your mistake. If you fucked up, you should own it and you should feel upset for being bad at what you're being paid to do.

Having said that, when it's the other 99.9% of situations where you're just being bitched at by a customer for something that wasn't your fault (and/or something that wasn't even done incorrectly to begin with), you've gotta learn to enjoy it. I for one love sitting there and watching people piss and shit all over the place because they are having a bad day. It makes for good entertainment in what is likely otherwise a pretty uneventful day-to-day.

Yeah see this is where you and I aren't the same. I gotta engage, I can't just sit back and let someone yell or bitch at me, I gotta wing it right back at them tenfold and also step on their head a little too (metaphorically of course).

But I also have a propensity to get angry when other people are angry at me because I typically see myself as going through life NOT looking for trouble, so when someone's pissed at me regardless if it's actually my fault, I see that as them bringing me trouble and I get pissed back at them for it.

Just go in with the mindset that the customer is always an idiot and you'll be fine.

I had this happen except it was the previous store owner they claimed they knew. I told them to go ahead and boy howdy, they were surprised that the the owner was dead 10 years prior. Owners son didnt care and told the customer to go away.

Ya gotta change your viewpoint and try to react with humor instead of anger. Not to the customer of course, just in your head. When I'm on the phone with a pissy client I'm just laughing in my head. Anger will only make things worse. Humor at least can be a solid cope.

I think I hit my fill on corporate retail after a few people wished death on me for not giving in to their ridiculous dangerous and possibly illegal demands.

I swear, half the people out there would kill themselves or others if not for the pharmacy. They don't know shit.
