Still this is quite a great game.

Just got back from my first trip to Helheim.

On my third Valkyrie, and I'm up to the fourth challenge in Muspellheim.

God of war you mean right?

Muspelheim is fun if you have a foot and domination fetish.

If you're talking about Valkyries, there's one in Alfheim that did the same. I put her off until later.

The one in Muspelheim has a hilarious attack where she stomps on you and shouts, "UNWORTHY!"

Just be glad you're not playing on GMGOW lol, that stomp attack is brutal there. IIRC it's damn near a oneshot kill and leaves you so low that literally any other attack finishes you off. And when using the Zeus armor in new game +, it really does oneshot you! And the final Valkyrie doesn't announce her stomp with "VALHALLA!" so you can't use that as an audio queue! And she likes to switch between regular stomps and fire stomps!

TLDR be glad you're not playing on GMGOW! :D

Three Valkyries down. Kara is easier on her own than the one I took down earlier, but the adds were a problem.

Beat the (first? I dunno) 100 enemy trial in Muspellheim.

Really starting to get a feel for the flow of using all your cooldown stuff in a rotation. Light Ice, Heavy Ice, Light Fire, Heavy Fire, Talisman, Boi, and so on.

Yeah I didn't really get a lot out of the combat in that game until those trials + valkyries forced me to. Although I found by late game, high runic builds felt really dominant.

I forget exactly what mechanic it was, but I remember finding the adds to be helpful because they let you regain health in some way.

You're gonna be in Muspelheim for a while if you plan on maxing out your valkyrie and Niflheim armor sets, have fun with that lol. Muspelheim grinding was always one of my least favorite parts, second only to Niflheim farming. Even killing the last valkyrie is easier than Niflheim farming! >:I

Finished up Muspellheim (first run anyway, not really interested in grinding runs) and have taken down five Valkyries.

Seven Valkyries down. Cleaned out Helheim, and heading to Konunsgard.

Eight Valkyries down. I probably should finish at least the quests here in Niflheim, though. Just gonna take time. :-/

The axe pommel you just got from killing Sigrun will at least make it easier to open the Nornir chest at the entrance of the maze. When it's equipped and you throw with R1 the axe will basically just keep going straight until it hits something, with the main drawback being that it takes longer to recall. Very useful for Niflheim, if nothing else.

Shit I forgot, sorry man. And yeah that chest isn't much of a problem normally, but sometimes one of the bells will spawn far enough away that it's nice to just yeet the axe straight at it so you can get on with your day.

UGH. Three deaths in a row on Nifl runs. I got one Tear done at least.

It occurs to me that I miscommunicated which Nornir chest gives me trouble sometimes. It's the one that spawns in a safe chamber between combat arenas, the one that you have to hit three bells to open (not the one at the start). Sometimes one of the bells would spawn far away enough that I'd get flustered and waste too much time trying to get the right throwing angle. It's hard for me to focus on that kinda thing when I'm under a time limit.

Hooof. Wouldn't call that especially fun, but I completed Niflheim (all the Realm Tears and the Valkyrie).

Took pretty much the entire evening.

Yeah, Niflheim is the one thing I'd say the game kinda misses on. Just a bit too grindy.

I remember if I went in and saw a revenant, I would just immediately reset it because seeing one in the first room meant the entire place was fucking full of them and I didn't have time for that shit.

Didn't play today but I know I'm getting near the end, so I'll keep this rolling.

Ach. Got Siggy down eight of her 15 pips, use my Res Stone, then immediately after that she does Dommy Mommy. I dodge the first drop, and the second drop, but don't know there can be a third drop, and that emptied my life. Bleh.

If you can manage to perfect dodge her stomps with Amulet of Kvasir equipped, then runic attacks (I mainly use Hel's Touch because it's quick), Executioner's Cleave and Spartan Rage (throw a single punch before attempting to turn it off so you can combo after) are good ways to disrupt her stomps. And if she uses the fire variant I usually find it safer to just do a dodge roll after dodging the fire.

All right we're starting to figure her out. Best run so far got her down to three pips.

Starting to get the hang of switching weapons only for damaging Runic attacks.

I really like Leviathan's Wake for the Axe Light because it's good at any range and you also get a second to make sure you're aimed right.

Glaive Storm is another cool runic attack because it can hit a single target twice when used at close range. Got a lot of mileage out of that and Leviathan's Wake during no damage Trials.

Problem I had with Glaive Storm was that it stopped Kratos' movement for longer than I was comfortable. I mean, most Runic Attacks stop you for a second or two but I just feel that one was worse. I dunno.

River of Knives is good for valkyries because it usually pushes them back, and it comes out quick enough for when they don't get pushed.

And done. 100% completion.

I loved when you summoned Sigrun and she just grabs you by the whole head and drags you across the ground.

Yeah that was dope. I forgot about that. The game has a lot of cool moments, honestly. I really liked the bits with Jormungandr too
