It seems their "justification" is that "gender is a social construct".

It's so fucking awful and it's a goddamn joke that any Republican has the balls to ever ask for cooperation and respect for their beliefs.

This is vindictive and hurtful. They do not view trans people as legitimate human beings. Their very existence is at serious risk, not that it was ever safe.
