Fantastic franchise, but I think it's only considered a mid-level franchise (or minor franchise, possibly). Why isn't it bigger?

Despite being incredibly marketable, the gameplay is one of the more hardcore Nintendo titles which probably throws casuals off it.

Niche concept and a lot of people are bad at time management in games would be my guesses.

Well if it was bigger, that would defeat the point. The idea is Olimar's what, slightly bigger than a few coins stacked on top of each other and the Pikmin are like half his size?
If it was bigger it'd totally reframe it, instead of being tiny in a normal sized world wrought with danger, the Bulborbs and Dweevils would be treated like giant monsters attacking a regular sized world.
