I hated Sun and Moon and Sword and Shielf but i need a new switch game

I loved it. I wish the graphics were better, and the boss battles with the throwing of those dumb pouches is dumb as f***, but it's an incredibly unique Pokemon game. I've logged way more time in this one than any other game in recent memory.

Pokemon hasn't actually been good since unironically Gen 5.

I agree with this although the unnecessary use of the word unironically bothers me. We had it so good in Gen 4 and 5

I actually really did not like Gen 5 when it was new.

To be fair black and white weren't that good, I feel they were held back by not using any of the old gen pokemon in the main games. B2 & W2 however are probably the best games in the pokemon franchise, it would be even better if they let you play challenge mode without beating the E4 first.

Arceus is okay and has some good ideas but it gets really repetitive in the endgame and whoever thought the AI ganging up on you 4 v 1 was good idea needs a slap.

it was refreshing and super fun. hoping the main series takes some lessons from it, but keeps the battles.

that said, i still enjoy the main series games. sword and shield were weak, but i enjoyed them well enough while i did play them. sun and moon were under-rated and XY was amazing and i wish they'd kept mega evolutions.

My brother played it and said it was different enough from the main games, but in the good way

I know people who said they aren't going to get Scarlet/Violet because it isn't going to be exactly like PLA, which is weird to me.

I'm not getting them because they look awful. Just like PLA and BDSP
Although I got BDSP and played 5 whole minutes of it.

gen 5 was shit out in the transition to 3d, as such the sprites are god fucking awful, the story has more holes than a broken fence, the region is designed like garbage

gen 5 was crap

but arceus is pretty decent as a tech demo for what pokemon could be

lets go to the 3ds. x/y 2013, alpha sapphire/whatever ruby 2014, ect, ect.

there's pretty much almost always a yearly mainline pokemon game, as well as little spinoffs multiple times a year

however, lets go to the switch now.

scar/vio is also 2022, but arceus isn't actually even considered a mainline title so

Black/White 2 makes gen 5 the best

only two were good then

and it's still literally irrelevant regarding how many come out in a year, considering the last mainline title was three years ago.

especially if you never had any interest in playing them anyways

im currently playing brilliant diamond and enjoying it.

but if BDSE dont count as mainline titles then HGSS dont either i guess? which means they didnt release a Pokmon game between 2008 and 2011
