...SCOTUS or Congress and utilizing and expanding the power of the executive specifically to reform/redefine the government.

This would be a mainstream party candidate running specifically with like "I'm going to use the power available to me to reform the branches of government and if they don't like it they can try to stop me"

Or if they ran on something like "if elected I'll launch a series of referendums throughout the country and if people vote for it I'll hold a new constitutional convention or enact these reforms"

This would all hinge under "our current government is broken and the current things in place that would help us fix it are impractical or unusable" or some similar sort of "emergency" declaration.

Iunno it made me feel weird. The current trajectory the US is on doesn't feel sustainable so it feels like this isn't a terribly unreasonable possibility within the next couple of decades.

I wonder if people would go for this. Like we've seen how eagerly people have embraced Trump and the other fashy kinda politicians like him but even then they operate largely within the confines of government (even though they exploit loopholes and push the letter of the law)

I'm stealing these ideas and leaving you no soup.

Wait until you find out the US has a whole party like that.
