not crazy about this "realistic dialogue" era we're in where literal norse gods are talking to each other like a fed-up married couple on a netflix drama in perfect 2020s american accents

The only god that talks like that is Odin and in the Norse mythology he was known to be incredibly shifty, doing everything he can to prevent Ragnarok from happening which also means screwing over others. So honestly, his "mafia" talk felt very appropriate with what they were trying to go for.
