This game's a little... silly isn't it?

The pachislot system for gaining levels and upgrading Materia is weird, too.

I mean it's not bad. Just odd.

Game is convoluted and didnt need to be. The slot system got really annoying when I played it on psp.

Dialogue says a lot of pointless stuff that could have been summarized by Life is weird huh.

And the two original character dont steal guys are the worst.

Its fun and worth playing, but man, did it need to be trimmed a bit,

PSP limitations really coming through on this port. I still love it because I love Zach and this game was my first solo FF7 experience and what made me ever give a damn about 7 at all.

WHat do you mean the game is like 15 hours, RPGs are usually 30 to 40.

The slot machine isn't really a slot machine, especially for leveling up. If you have enough exp, it'll super prioritize giving you a level. Just, you can't see exp values. At least this remaster does what the original doesn't and explicitly says that exp DOES exist and you just can't see it.

Yeah, I scrolled a bit through that list I linked to and apparently the DMW is a lot less intrusive than it used to be.

This just sounds like a million quality of life improvements. Thats great. I really liked the original.

In turn it allows for afk materia level farming. A nice thing to do if you don't mind wasting electricity.

Looked at a trophy guide and realized the game doesn't tell you that you can walk out to the streets of Midgar before heading out on the mission.

Reloaded an earlier save so I could get back to Chapter 2's beginning. After I'd done a bunch of missions, thank goodness.

Realized that after looking at the bottom of the changes guide where they said "by the way the game still doesn't have a chapter select, so you can still miss a ton of shit".

But theres new game plus...

After reading the list of improvements and seeing about an hour of footage from it, I can safely say that CC Reunion has made Crisis Core actually worth playing. Story still sucks, but hey, it's fun now.

Quick what's a good early fusion.

So that is the big question - should I get it if I never played the original Crisis Core?

I absolutely loved FF7 Remake (and the original back in the day) and would like to play this as well if it doesn't frustrate the hell out of me.

The gameplay and graphical improvements make it entirely worth it, IMO. Combat now feels like you're essentially playing FFVII Remake.
