Another independent pharmacy shut down in November due to their owner and only full-time pharmacist deciding to retire and close. My pharmacy decided to buy their prescriptions and inventory and we took on half a dozen employees that lost their jobs.

I found out yesterday that, at this previous pharmacy, they were salaried and then forced to work over 60 hours per week plus 8 hours every other Saturday. And if they ever made a mistake, they were docked pay. One of them held back tears expressing how glad they were to be free of that hellhole.

Corporations like Amazon are absolutely horrible on workers, but small businesses can be just as scummy, which might actually be easier to get away with due to being so far under the radar.

This owner was an absolute piece of shit during the sale and this just made him look even worse. We told them that it still isn't too late to go after him. He stole so much money and time from these poor people and did it for decades in some instances.

Where was that pharmacy located? Docking pay is illegal in most places.

Only illegal if you get caught. This is Virginia.

Wasn't a guy recently enslaved in North Carolina for like 30 years?
