The school is huge, but I never realized until Hogwarts Legacy how few students there are. There's only like 6 beds per year in the dorms and the great hall is only moderately great. They look pretty authentic to the movie, though.

So we're looking at maybe 180 students total? I felt like there were more witches and wizards in Britain. That was my impression at least.

Yeah, I kinda figured back when watching the movies/reading the books that the student body should've been seriously minuscule. Harry's dorm consisted of just himself, Ron, Neville, Dean, and Seamus, so I always guessed there were only 5 boys and 5 girls per year per House. So 280 students total.

Which seems SUPER small since it's supposed to house all the magical kids in all of Great Britain, but I figured it's just cuz JK Rowling didn't expect anyone to care about stuff like that.

Which is really dumb because sorting is done by last name so the last boy and girl to get sorted just goes to whatever house is left? if Gryffindor, Sytherin, and Hufflepuff already have 5 first years and the last kid to get sorted is dumb as a sack of bricks, oh well he's still a Ravenclaw.

That is not how it works at all. The numbers they're talking about per house are just general averages. You go to whatever house best suits you, taking into account your personal preference.

There are tons of children oriented media that takes their fiction more seriously. Rowling is just a mediocre writer who lucked out.

I think theres about 1,000 students, so 143 in each year, and about 35 per house(fraction but rounding down since its like 35.75) in each year or whatever, my maths probably off but so is JKs and i don't think she really cared. But HL isn't meant to be an exact replica of Hogwarts and neither were the movies. There's more room in the common rooms

Nothing any of us has said has had anything to do with individual countries. The discussion has been about the African continent the entire time.

Jesus Christ dude, I shouldn't have to spell it out for you.

Every other school represents a country. Yet the African school represents.....Africa. You know, an entire continent with many different countries inside it, with differing and distinct cultures.

I don't think you understand.

Someone said that Africa only had 1 wizarding school. They were corrected, because although Africa does have the largest wizarding school in the world, it is not the only one located in Africa.

I'm not sure what you are talking about.

Edit in response to your post above. That wasn't even a part of any argument... The argument was whether Africa had more than one wizarding school. It does. That's the end of it.
