It'll probably happen because money but if I was a writer or director that wanted to not kill my career then I wouldn't touch it. The original show was basically perfection on every level, you can't top something like that. It would be like trying to reboot the X Files.

I'd only support a buffy reboot if Giles had a gender swap and was now Roberta Giles and was played by Sarah Michelle Geller

First time I've ever heard of angels actor bullying Xander actor
But if the source of that claim is Xanders actor it does call it into question since he isn't the most reliable considering his drunk problems and domestic abuse issues he inflicted including threatening woman with a knife

There was a reboot announced but that seems to be on hold indefinitely since accusations against Whedon came out.

Coincidentally, I'm currently rewatching Buffy for the first time since it aired. I still think it's a great show but certain aspects really didn't age well.
