The entire parental rights argument seems to be "teachers shouldn't teach things I haven't taught my kids, and they shouldn't let kids see them as role models or friendly adults, because then my kids will become impossible to parent and they'll never listen to me or respect me".

Is it some variation of Satan being more persuasive than God and they view teachers as guided by the devil?

Its probably because they can then blame somebody else when their kids grow up to be shit.

Tbh I did learn more from teachers than from my parents. But my dad did abandon me, teachers are obligated to be in class just like students.

It's because they're awful people and awful parents, so when their kids grow up and meet other people they realize how shit their parent's are. Instead of learning how they fail at being parents and how they fail at being people worth being around they just lash out at other people instead.

During the week kids spend more time with their teachers than they do their parents. Like, I drop my kid off at school at 8:00, he gets out at 3:00. I get home about 6:00, and he goes to bed at 9:00. So on a day in which I have nothing else to do in the evening (which is never tbh) i get to spend 3 hours with my kid.

I would say that when kids are little, their parents are more influential, but then when they approach adolescence, and start to yearn for independence, teachers become more influential than parents.
