He said he was done with the role after the Starz show, but Rami twisted him arm to reprise it.

cause i gotta tell you ash vs evil dead did such a good job with them that i cant think of ash without them with him anymore

He said he will only do it if Sam Raimi directs one, and Sam Raimi doesn't seem interested so this is a bit of a non-starter.

Still informative though and at least you can't really blame Bruce Campbell anymore for holding a new one back - he doesn't want a different director handling him or the character which I think is totally fair.

Agreed. They did a great job with the both of them.

Also even though it was cancelled, I feel like it ended on a great note. I don't feel that the future twist was a genuine cliffhanger. More it was an ending that proving the adventures could continue kinda thing. Sorta like the end to Army of Darkness.

This. Topic title makes it sound like it's a done deal. It's just Bruce Campbell saying he would play Ash again if Raimi directs another one.

To be fair he's basically as old now as Harrison Ford was in Indiana Jones 4, but why does Hollywood think getting old actors to reprise roles from decades ago is a good idea

The Ash era of Evil Dead is for the most part, campy and self-deprecating so all the things he does never seem jarring or out of place for however old Bruce is so it isn't quite the same as 90 year old Harrison Ford reprising a straightforward action adventure hero doing the same physical shit from 40 years ago.
