I asked "why are there no bears in Africa" and it said There are actually eight species of bears in the world, and none of them are native to Africa. This is because bears evolved in North America, Europe, and Asia, and never made their way to Africa. The climate and geography of Africa are quite different from those of the areas where bears are found, with more savannas, deserts, and grasslands than forests, which are the natural habitats of most bear species. But it was wrong! There used to be a bear called the Atlas bear that was hunted to extinction in the 1800s. After telling it that, it said You are correct, I apologize for my mistake. The Atlas Bear, also known as the African Bear, was a species of bear that once inhabited the Atlas Mountains of North Africa. It was closely related to the brown bear and was the only bear species native to Africa. However, the Atlas Bear was hunted to extinction by the late 1800s, primarily for sport and for the perceived threat it posed to livestock. Thank you for bringing this to my attention and allowing me to correct my previous response. I guess this makes me smarter than an AI. --- https://imgur.com/h74Kc6W ... Copied to Clipboard!
