How do you know a Twitter replacement won't appear then?

i will never get americans and their obsession with Twitter. most of them treat it like its the holy grail of social media or whatever... lol

Twitter has been operating at a massive loss for years, failing to book an annual profit since 2019 (Mauer, 2022). For eight out of the last ten years, the company has posted a loss. While losses are trending downwards, the company saw a net loss of a staggering $1.14 billion in 2020.

Earlier in October, Musk stated that Twitter was operating at a $4 million loss per day, despite still ranking as one of the worlds most popular social media platforms (Needleman, Corse, 2022)

I don't see Twitter going anywhere, even with the Elon controversies, simply because it was never profitable to begin with. So the primary driver most businesses face for staying afloat (actually making money) seems to be completely absent here.
