People can ride out the strike by watching streaming and foreign shows. And execs WILL consider trying out AI writing out scripts with some low-paid scrub looking over it to smooth it out.

This isn't going to end as well as the last time.

IDK, I think bypassing the writers guild would be a bad long term decision

Streaming and foreign shows were around 15 years ago.

Honestly I could see AI scripts being absolutely awful and even making the writers' case for them.

Not as easily accessible and streaming tech was way lower. YouTube was still in its infancy.

Now almost everyone has it and the amount of shows available has never been greater.

Plus, there's the younger generation who doesn't even watch TV anymore. They're on TikTok or following their favorite Twitch streamers.

It's not about the younger generation, because they aren't watching the TV shows that stations were making their ad money on anyway. There's a reason the most important Ad demographic is 18-49.

No one cares about what kids are watching, because they aren't making any purchasing decisions.

I do agree that there are A LOT more streaming options than there was back in 2007, but the writers of the streaming shows went on strike as well. So all people will have are replays of older shows, which they also had back in 2007, although with obviously less options.
