No. My dad made a pathetic attempt once, but I learned from sex ed and an older friend.

It wasn't really am individual "talk", but my dad liked to nonchalantly bring up sex frequently. Learned more of the specifics in sex ed.

Never ended up using any of the information, as predicted, so the experience didn't really have an impact on me.

Health class unfortunately. I learned very little about the opposite sex but that seems to be how parents want it.
I've learned so much from the girls I dated and even now with my fiance. She gets mad, but then appreciates I want to know more about her plumbing.

I figured it out on my own years ahead of time. (Although I still had health class at some point)

Only talk I had was my dead saying, "you better not get her pregnant"

No not exactly. I didn't attend sex ed till 7th grade in school. When I started my rag, her idea of the talk was to toss me a pack of pads and tell me I can get pregnant now, so I need to be careful...at the age of 12. Thanks.

Like, trust me I get that it's awkward. And if it's so awkward that you don't feel comfortable having the talk with your kid(s), that's what comprehensive sex ed classes are for.

They talk about it in a no-nonsense, matter- of-fact, medical way. Concerning bodily changes, how pregnancy works, and stds. So I don't get parents problems with optional sex ed classes.

No. Being from a somewhat conservative Indian family I'm guessing my parents didn't find the topic appropriate or comfortable to discuss.

I can't recall my parents ever talking to me about sex. But one of the more awkward moments of my teenage years was when I was 17 and having to tell my mom that I had gotten my girlfriend pregnant.

It was made even more awkward because I had put it off for so long, so by the time I finally told my mom that I was gonna be having a kid, my girlfriend was already 7 months pregnant.

Hardly, In fact I think I ended up more confused.

All I remember is my dad telling me is that girls don't have a penis, so I grew up thinking girls peed out their butt. It was so hard instilled in my brain that I once had a dream I walked in on a girl dressing and I scared her so much she peed out her butt at me.

Even when I discovered porn, for a while I thought the girls were getting it up the butt (which occasionally they were so). One day I had a revelation when I realized there was another hole.

They also never told me words like penis and vagina. So I thought my friend was just saying pee-ness like he was accentuating pee (similar to goodness). Because I heard of vagina through word of mouth I mistook it for bagina. I even tried correcting a girl in my middle school class, on MySpace, for posting some weird banner claiming girls sleepovers contained vagina fights. I was like "Don't you mean BAGINA?".

The talk with my mom consisted of her telling me not to have sex until married. So all I learned, I learned from school.

My husband and I had the talk with our kids. No, I did not dread it. I didnt want them to have the lack of explanation that I had. We explained the mechanics, how to prevent pregnancy and consent.

Back when TLC wasn't a bastion for godawful, shitty, 'reality' tv, they actually had some programming dedicated to learning. Imagine that.

I remember my parents and I were watching a program on TLC and when it finished, there was an introduction to the next program that had just a bunch of naked people standing around. My folks quickly changed the channel, but me having a TV in my room, you know what I was up to that night.

It was actually pretty informative. It was just some program that detailed sex, what it is, how babby is formed, everything I needed to know. Thanks TLC.

No. Never had that kind of talk with either of them. I did take a sex ed class in 6th grade, and then there was another sex ed class in 9th and 10th paired with PE.

Our gym coach taught that one, he was pretty crude about it. It was embarrassing enough having it taught to the whole class, but he made it so much worse. "I have to teach you guys about Puberty. I'm looking at each of you, and I don't see anyone that hasn't gone through it yet."
"Ok, so I'm supposed to read this to you and it mentions the penis. I know you all know what what it is. It's your pecker. So when I say pecker just know I mean penis, ok?"

Also, the only thing my parents ever told me about sex is that I shouldn't have it(from mom) and that I'm too stupid to have it(from dad).
