I played it for a little while then I guess I got a bit bored with it? I dunno.

But I just opened up my Data Management to check some things to clear out and I observed.

That A Hat In Time's file size.

Is exactly the same as Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Now that's poor compression if I've ever seen it. >_>

Oh hey I'm actually planning on playing Hat in Time after finishing Spiderman!

I thought it looked like it had potential to be fun

Maybe I just got a poor early impression, but that city place I went to just seem kinda lousily designed.

I feel like it's designed like a platformer from the early 2000s before they figured out pacing and flow.

Or rather, that's the impression stuck in my head from my memories of it. I may change that tune if I get back in.

I know there's a DLC that's a straight up wholesale reference to Like A Dragon, so that has me intrigued.

Point is, Hat in Time is taking up a non-insignificant portion of my MicroSD.

I played Hat in Time. It's a decent game, a solid modern rendition of 3D platformer and collectathon games.

Hat system to use different abilities can be a bit annoying, but I guess that was their compromise to make abilities work with control confines.

Pin system to make different builds to your taste is nice.

Boss design I remember being surprisingly good for a platformer, except that they drag on a lot.

Story is meant to be cutesy and nonsensical, that's a matter of taste.

Overall a good get if you enjoy those style of games. But if you're not a fan, it won't click all that well. Additional note that I didn't play the Nyakuza Metro DLC, which seems to have a pretty great reception.

I don't play Zelda but I liked AHiT quite a bit more than Mario Odyssey.
