Reddit didn't stop working. Just some of the subreddits are private. I'm sure you can find something on there that meets your interest though.

Yeah in all likelihood most of the subs come back in 2 days with nothing happening, and maybe the subs saying they'll be down indefinitely will be gone a week.

Then everything will effectively be back to normal, all the third party reddit apps will be shut down, and everyone will reluctantly just do nothing as they probably download the shitty official reddit app.

Don't get me wrong, what Reddit is doing is shitty.

I just don't think this is gonna accomplish much.

Only a 100% mass exodus would work but that's not going to happen.

Well I was just notified about my 10 downvotes this morning for shitting on the Avatar game so reddit must be back to normal!

Reddit is going public. Nothing is going to stop the people on top from achieving the mission they are seeking out to do. A company like Reddit can't have third-party apps "stealing" money from them when they are trying to court investors.

This change isn't even going to be the worst of them. As a public company, Reddit is going to make a lot of changes that will either cement them as the world's truly premier social media (it is the final destination of message boards afterall) or have it tumble like Tumblr.

As a public company they're gonna get bought out by Elon.

I didnt even notice the boycott. All my favorite subs were still up to get my news from like r/news, r/worldnews, r/politics.
