Apparently it's a new streaming platform.
Heard about it and it made me feel how old I am.

It's just yet another youtube and twitch alternative for racists.

There's always been a billion small sites that try and copy the big ones and fail. Just because you haven't heard of one of them, that makes you feel old?

Technically it's for online gambling but it has really poor moderation so its attracting everyone normal places ban.

Well that and they are throwing money at people, they just stole xQc and Amouranth from Twitch with absurd contracts. Just based on streaming alone they are in no way financially viable based on their spending, but since it is all backed by the gambling profits they can afford it.

Kick is also built on the leaked Twitch source code and uses Amazon's streaming backend, so it is literally just Twitch with fewer rules and a bigger budget.

Competition is good. I hope Kick manages to carve out a niche for itself in the game-adjacent streaming space just so Twitch has to care more about delivering a quality product.

Considering Amazon is making more from Kick than they do from Twitch the more likely option is that Amazon just gives up. Amazon couldn't make Twitch profitable even when they had no competition and now they have a competitor that is willing to throw piles of money at their most successful talents so it is not exactly a winning scenario for them.

and if it promotes kick over twitch, they would legitimately actually turn a profit. they no longer have to pay for twitch, they instead get paid from kick

it's not really a lose/lose situation for them to give up on twitch

it wont happen due to the brand of Twitch to the populace, but it wouldn't surprise me if they did do it.

idk if you ask reddit they seem to think it's ok.
My coworkers (most of which are libertarians) also think it's ok.
Note: I don't but nothing will change as long as sports gambling runs rampant and Congress is largely ignorant.
