Went to the amusement park with the kids over the weekend and ended up not being able to ride some of the rides. I'm cutting sugar, only eating veggies during the day and keeping carbs/protein to supper time when I can actually cook.

I'm 6'2 with a wider frame so I know I'll never be skinny, but I can definitely stand to lose about 50lbs at least. Forgot to add my weight, im pretty sure I'm at least 300lbs right now, might be a bit less but I think I'm probably a bit more.

50 pounds (or even 75) is definitely doable with some calorie watching and consistent moderate exercise. Could take up to a year if slow and steady but that is usually most effective.

Yea its definitely doable, like I've been drinking like 2L of pop a day and eating mostly carbs. Cutting out the sugar and reducing the carbs significantly should be a huge step towards getting down some significant weight.

Too fat because of pure weight and the ride only holds so much or too fat because the safety harness/belt couldn't get around you. At 6'2 that weight coukd be distributed very differently

---
I don't believe in belts. There should be no ranking system for toughness.

Yeah, cutting out the 2L entirely will do a lot. Don't drink that shit! thinking about opening a beer when I get home from grocery shopping

Safety harness would not close. I'm very top heavy. I have pretty good muscle distribution in my lower half but my top half is basically a blob lol.

I know. I hate my addiction to pop and sugar in general but this was a real eye opener. Hell when I originally started with the company I currently work for I was doing camp work and actually lost a bit of weight because I had noticed I was bigger than I was comfortable with so I switched out pop for flavored sparkinling water and over the course of two months I had already noticed a difference but then the project finished and I went home and fell back into bad habits. Regained the weight plus some so I know I can do it if I can keep myself on track.

Yea of course thats why I bought a bunch of zero sugar pop. I know it isn't the best for you long term but it at least gives me my carbonated sweet drinks for now. Veggies for during the day is easy too because I just pack only them and some ranch or ceasar dip and eat that when I'm hungry during the day. Then at supper I have my meal that isn't the healthiest but is still better than eating fast food.

Yeah, I would suggest some black coffee in the morning, then sparkling water, then tea in the afternoon, then more sparkling water. Get your flavor and caffeine and zero calories.

I am only saying it a zero calorie way to get caffeine. That sugar free pop atuff likely causes cancer.

Granted I've never been fat, but just cutting out creamers and drinking black helped drop the beer belly in just a matter of months.

It's the little things.

Yea but the length of time it takes to induce cancer is probably more than time I got left anyway.

Oh I don't mean that as I'm going to die soon or anything like that lol, just that if I remember correctly it takes a long time of copious amounts of those sweetners to induce cancer and I'm already pretty close to 40 so I'm not overly concerned about it.

Ironically, one of the advice with metformin is to take it with food if you have stomach issues/nausea from it.

Honestly, cutting out soda entirely for water or zero calorie drinks would be the biggest benefit for you to lose weight.

2 liters of soda(I looked up pepsi, so ymmv) has 870 calories.

3,500 calories are in a pound, so roughly every 4 days you should lose a pound of weight if you switch to no calorie drinks.

That's basically me. I have a giant sweet tooth.

I have these caramel almond clusters I got from Sams, I used to devour it, now it's one or two a day at most.
