Apparently we are a fucked up, anti-patient pharmacy because of these 3 reasons:

1. We ask for payment at time of service and will not deliver meds and hope we get paid later.

2. We will not fill Rxs for controlled Schedule II drugs that are sent in from the other side of the country.

3. We won't fill a prescription that is expired just because you lose your old employer's flex benefits at midnight and you're "pretty sure" the doctor will OK the renewal today.

Maybe if everyone aimed half of this energy at Big Pharma and Washington, maybe healthcare could improve!

I get yelled at all time over the phone at my job for shit thats not my fault or responsibility. Im fucking tired of it but of course cant do anything about cuz murica.

This is one I have a lot of sympathy for because a lot of people are legitimately being fucked over by a pharmaceutical industry that's price gouging their customers and a government that refuses to regulate them.

That said, yelling at someone at your local pharmacy isn't going to help anything.

Tell them the Republicans are to blame for letting Big Pharma go out of control.

Thats just it. Its not the pharmacys fault that this is how the system works. If these people want to be angry, I agree with OP that they should direct their anger to their politicians. If they were actually upset and want a change, thats the way to do it. Not yelling at pharmacy staff.

I also wish the general public knew a bit more behind how a pharmacy works. A lot of issues seem to stem from the public not fully understanding prescription law and what a pharmacy does.

Ive worked in credit and collections (business, not personal) my whole career. I cant tell you how many times Ive been told to go fuck myself. Used to find it amusing. But now with a wife and kid, not so much.

100%. Directing your anger at your representatives in Congress at least has a chance to change things, not yelling at some pharmacy employee who has nothing to do with why your prescriptions are so expensive or any power to change it.

I'd love if all medications were pretty much free! But we can't help anyone within the boundaries of the current system if we're blacklisted by insurance companies, stripped of licenses, and bankrupt.

Besides, our profit margins are already slimmer than the chain pharmacies, because the place is a local business and actually operated with the intention of given a damn about both patients and employees.
