my ps5 randomly shuts off in the middle of games unless i plug it directly into the wall outlet. im willing to spend a decent amount of money on something that doesnt suck. I remember @Shrek @confusedtorchic mentioning a good one a while ago

if I wanted something better than an average power bar I would just get an average UPS

Get a UPS. Doesn't really need to be a big fancy one, even a smaller model will do. It'll also keep your PS5 from crashing if the power blinks out for a moment.

Amazon has a 425VA APC UPS for $61, and an Amazon Basics 600VA UPS for $59.

Or ask your employer if they have any old UPSes they're getting rid of. Most of them can be refurbished by replacing the battery and you don't need to buy the brand-name replacement battery pack, you can rebuild the old pack using standard SLAs that cost about $15-30 each.

I use Belkin surge protectors and have never had issues. I have pretty frequent power outages during spring months since it storms a lot and have never had real issues other than the power being out, just make sure it has an adequate joule rating, like 4000+ or something. Just, if you have power surges or outages often, make sure to replace them every few years cus the protection won't last forever.
UPS might be overkill, I'd personally only find one useful to have time to save documents/projects/whatever in the event of an outage (that said, a UPS will generally provide better surge protection than something that is only a surge protector. generally, not always)

Maybe try getting a different power cord and see if it still has a problem.
