Like typical mc's village get destroyed by demons but it develop much more and pile on twist after twists. While the actual dialouge isnt translated well (feels like 90s jrpg dialogue) the story is absolutely worth it. The progression system is awesome, it has a mix of level up system, stat tree system, and ffix skill from equipment system. There is also robust magic system and build. There so much to the progression and made the gameplay absolutely fun and varied. One flaw i want to point out is it has some cringy pervy humor that made me roll my eyes sometimes. They arent serious fan service, and more like comic relief but still kidna cringy.
