Board members are appointed in my county and Republicans are defending it under the guise of "Keeping politics out of the school board" and "Putting students first"

The current board has banned 19 books and gotten sued by the ACLU over their trans bathroom policy. They somehow managed to take the Confederate names of all schools, but even with that, one guy was like "I don't care if the students support changing the names".
