The marriage is really shallow though. They just hang out at your house or act as a follower if they're a soldier.

The sheer randomness of this sort of makes me want to get back into the game. I picked it up for PS4 not long ago, but I couldn't really commit to a build. I'm always torn between magic and stealth, and hybrid builds always feel like a 'master-of-none' scenario.

My life is pretty garbage now, though, so I could use some getting lost for awhile.

My last run was pure stealth, with bow and daggers.

This run I'm using 1h weapons in my right hand and magic in my left hand, using a lot of necromancy spells since I am a vampire.

You can with a mod, but yeah, literally the one girl everyone would want to marry above all and you can't. She's also the best companion in the game.

Hybrid builds can be fun anyway though since at a certain point you outscale the enemies and stomp everyone anyway. Might as well keep the game challenging as long as possible by distributing skillpoints into as many fun skill trees as you want.

I loved going two handed when I finally got to do legendary edition stuff not in vanilla.

Bloodskal blade is life. <3 The pure damage is nice too since the backwards power attack does one of the beam slashes and is the best or second best power attack with two handed weapons to begin with.

Oblivion handled it a lot better in that regard

I tend to agree, but in Skyrim, it just felt like you ended up gimping yourself one way or another. It's not like it made the game unwinnable, since it's not particularly hard, but it just felt lacking in the long run. Like you said, though, it's fun.

if going for any option, prepare for it is a huge time investment.
PC's probably better, followed by the systems.
