The characters.
The class combinations and class system.
The setting.

This is without a doubt the best wrpg this Gen. I say that as a diehard Witcher series fan. The magnificent bastards managed to pull it off on a controller on consoles intuitively too.

I've never gotten past the 2nd chapter.

Second chapter bothered me a bit, there seem to be a lot of situations where you can easily ruin other quests, even character ones, by wandering around and blindly doing your own thing.

But overall i'm still very much enjoying it, and i get the feeling it's one of those games that will be much more fun on a second playthrough, when you know what you want out of your team and how to go about it.

I love that everything is narrated. I love talking to animals.

I'm rolling with Ifan(main) as an inquisitor, fane as a wizard, red prince as a fighter, and sabille as wayfarer.

I know lohse is good plot wise too but I heard she works better for her own playthrough as a main.

It truly is one of the handful of games I'd call a masterpiece. Glad you're liking it so much. I'll do a replay here at some point, when I find the time. It's a big commitment lol.

I know lol, it's a fucking massive game.

I honestly picked my party combo classes mostly based on my experience with the first game and what sounded cool, and my combo is working really well, lots of different ways to heal everyone and lots of different types of damage and floor coverings. It's been working so well.

Definitive edition of both games fixes problems.

The entire third act of 2 is reworked in the definitive edition so that it makes sense apparently.

I fucking love my inquisitor. 2h weapon, heavy armor, warfare skills like crushing blow and whirlwind, plus all the necromancy skills, and mosquito swarm.

So delicious. Death knight lol.

I remembered not caring that much about putting points into Necromancy until I was shown how wrong I was for not doing so when I learned about its passive and also started abusing Infect and Decaying Touch. Warfare, Necro, and some Ranger skills were pretty OP.

Yep, the most popular inquisitor builds are all death knights, focusing on aoe 2h warfare skills and aoe necro skills, with self heals, it's a monster.

It's kind of wild where the series went. I remember the game in rhe series where you transformed into a dragon, it was ass. Now it's got masterpieces in its series.

Divine Divinity was alright. The turn into a dragon one was a technical disaster. Never could finish it it was so broken.
