They pretty much stay in character at all times. When I lived in Halifax, we'd often see Julien around town. He always had a glass of coke with ice in it on him. It was a great way to promote the show.

Honestly out of all the running gags in that show, him always holding that glass despite being in roll over car accidents and stuff never stops being funny.
