*I have food but its all oatmeal and granola and shit which I use for work.

I want something I'll cook. The only thing I can think of is pasta with sauce, but no meat, since it'd probsbly be too much. So I was thinking of just getting a bell pepper or something to add to it.

I dunno. Y'all shoot me an idea.

Get one of those hot whole chicken things you can get at the grocery store. They are close to costing that much.

Buy a sack of potatoes. You can make the different kind of potatoes that people make with them. Mashed, baked, fried, etc. Potatoes are one of the most complete foods that you could survive off of without anything else.

Baked diced potatoes with butter and seasonings sounds delightful right now actually.

Find some coupons if you can.

10 pack of ramen noodles/pasta
Eggs
Canned tuna
Bread, if you can.
Iceberg lettuce, cabbage or whatever the cheapest bag of leaves for salad is

Those are some ideas you should consider for your budget planning. In the future, you should get condiments and stuff for making sandwiches. Stuff that will keep for awhile, like peanut butter, mayonnaise, jelly, salad dressing, cheese, etc. One time investments that can pay dividends the next time you're in situation where the food budget could be lean. Obviously you can't right now, but getting some spices and herbs can allow you to do so much more with what you got and they're also a sunk cost investment for the future.

That said, it is also near to Christmas, you might be able to find some places, like churches, that are hosting meals for the community, or find places like a Food Bank that are handing out subsidized food. You may be able to, if nothing else, get some cheap loaf of white bread that tastes uncannily similar to a paper towel, but there might be some leg work you can do to maximize your limited budget.

There is also the possibility that you could earn a free meal at a restaurant if you offer to help them wash the dishes or something similar.

There's potential to not starve/run out of resources in the meantime though.

I'm too tired to bother wanting to edit this, but I realize that I may have misinterpreted the topic post and that you're trying to decide on how to spend the last 6 bucks on your budget ledger before you go to the market with a list. So if that's the case, the suggestions on condiments and spices might be something to consider for a way to top of the budget. Next time, you could use that 6 bucks to buy another couple of spices, lather, rinse, repeat.

Really though you should be looking up food pantries in your area. If you have no food to swallow you have no choice but to swallow your pride. It can make a huge difference.

I have food, I just don't want the food I have. I habe money, but I need it for other things, and I've got savings, I just don't want to touch it. I make myself live within my means.

You can buy about 3 bags of dry beans with that money, then go to McDonald's and swipe a bunch of BBQ sauce and mix the two together.

For one meal or more?? If you live in the us pork is super cheap. Buy some pork chops, a box of pasta and sauce which is optional, if you have butter you could just buy an onion instead. Should be able to get 3-4 meals if you don't eat huge portions from that.
