Egypt still loves them, Turkey is the nation of cats, they're fucking celebrities in Istanbul. The rest of the Arab and Persian world, they pretty much all have pet cats and take care of street cats. I remember that YouTube film "Kedi" about the cats of Istanbul.
"Kedi" is apparently just "cat" in Turkish. Before I actually saw the trailer I figured it was a cutesy way of saying "kitty" because "kedi" is pretty much what I say to myself every time I see a cute cat. ... Copied to Clipboard!
