Witcher 3 took a year of patches to run at 30fps.

Pro and X will fair better. But unless they pull off some miracle, expect a year of patches to hit 30fps. And then a definitive version on ps5/scarlet lol.

(obviously a good pc is the way to go)

That's why I'm not even looking at console for the game. I'm getting it on PC. I was glad to hear that they are looking at bringing physical PC Editions to stores. I want a physical version of the game.

Yeah, I've been looking at them. $400 Canadian for new 2000 series GeForce video cards. Definitely an upgrade over my GTX 970 4GB.

Thing is, it's been about 4 years since I built this computer. I'd have to build an entirely new computer, because my chipset is on 1150, when the new standard is 1151.

I feel like an i5 should still be good, but you need a new generation one. I have an i5 4690, which is decidedly a mid-range chip now. I believe they have i5 6700 and up now.

Emphasis on good. Recommended for 1080p appears to be a 1070. Not gonna be a game many will run smoothly even on pc.

I thought so but some games really need that better CPU now. I have a 6500 and tried to play Watch Dogs 2 and it runs like garbage because the CPU just can't handle that game.

But CDProjektRED is a developer who takes this stuff into account. I know I'm being paranoid. Hell I'm pretty sure they somehow managed to get Witcher 3 on Xbox One X to run 60fps.

Jesus christ. This shit is running 720p, 21fps, on medium-low settings on ps4 /xb1 at launch lol
