And I don't hate it. Combat is the very definition of mediocre, but the atmosphere, music, story, voice acting, world, etc are all really well done, which is expected as that's what dontnod has become known for because of life is strange.

No bullshit, if you get it, play on story difficulty so you can just mostly disregard the combat side of things and stick to the story. It's one of those games.

the gameplay was kinda weak, at first, but I started enjoying it after leveling up some abilities and unlocking others.

and it's cool how almost all of the NPCs have some relevance.

yea, I tried not to drink people's blood, but if someone was creep, or I ended up messing up on the dialogue, then I made an exception

another interesting thing is how NPCs can have a connections (family, lovers, etc.), and how you interact with them can affect others

Legacy of Kain Defiance spoilers

I've always wondered if they ever made a sequel to Defiance will Raziel be able to communicate with Kain from within the reaver. Feels like a waste to let Raziel's story end there.

I'm a few hours into it, I was enjoying it but something else caught my attention and I pushed it aside. I'll go back to it for sure, I think it's free on Gamepass right now.

It can be incredibly difficult if you don't feed at all, but there is an alternate ending if you do.
I ended up rage quitting at a boss fight because I was so ridiculously underleveled.

Legacy of Kain Defiance spoilers

When Raziel became part of the blade and Elder god was taken out I always thought that Raziel would be able to speak to Kain through the blade. I mean are we really gonna let that voice acting go to waste? it was amazing.

Saw this when it went up on Tuesday but forgot about it until now, still on the fence. Combat movement looks sluggish from the little gameplay that I saw, but at least there's a dodge and parry (though only with certain weapons from what I read). The setting and the citizen-tracking stuff looks interesting, but I wonder how deep it is and what you decide to do with individual citizens actually matters. Also, I really like Anthony Howell's voice so that's a plus. I'll probably pick it up.
