Pretty good. Screen is excellent, it controls surprisingly well, it has 40 games and has save states. The speakers are actually really loud too but you can luckily turn them down. Only complaints so far is that it has no battery and you have to leave it plugged in to play. Also didn't come with an AC adapter but I have plenty anyway. I haven't tried hooking it up to a TV yet but I heard bad things about that. For what I payed for it (around $70) I like it.

Yes. Actually it has two. I heard of some adapter that let's you use Xbox One controllers and such, because apparently the ones that you are supposed to buy for it are pretty garbage and I don't think you can play with any other controller without the adapter. Like I said though the controls on the console are surprisingly competent.

I think it use to be over $100 when it launched which I thought was ridiculously high. $70 for 40 games in a unique little package was good enough for me. But then again, you have to be really into Neo Geo stuff to get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

You should see the New Geo X, that thing was like $150 or so, and the games looked pretty bad from what I recall.

It controls really well. I guess if you have really big hands it might be a bit worse but for me, it works very well. I suppose my only complain for me about the size is, I wish the screen was a little bigger but it's only a minor complaint. The games look amazing on the screen, too. The screen is also very bright so you don't really have to hunch over it.

Cool, it has the Metal Slugs.
And I always wanted to play more Magician Lord, King of the Monsters, I only played it briefly at a pizza place in the mid to early 90's
Also it looks a lot easier to play on then with a phone.

Metal Slug is pretty good, and yeah it's definitely a lot easier than playing on a phone. I'm still surprised how nice the controls are.

This may seem like a flippant question, but: Why? Why buy the retro consoles when VC, NSO, PSN, XBL, BC, emulators, etc. exist?

FWIW, I've had my GCN/PS2 and elder consoles in boxes since I moved halfway across the country in 2017, and would much rather jailbreak/emulate on what I have now than dig them out and set everything up.

I mean, that's a fair point. There's a reason I don't really own a lot of the other NES Mini or SNES mini type consoles. I really liked the way the SNK one looked, and I wanted something like it on my shelf. I can definitely see why people would just emulate instead. I also do like having official products, and I'm also a sucker for gimmicks. I do also own a few of the games on the Switch but I didn't really want all of them on there, and this is also a nice package to have them in. It's definitely not for everyone, but mainly for those of us who want a good, niche product.
