It drives me wild when someone doesn't know how to alternate quotation marks when they quote within a quote. It's like you are lacking basic education, and I can't understand it. It's extremely simple, just alternate your damn double/single quotations. If you write:

"Yeah, and I don't know what you mean by "those people" but we're going to have a hard time here." You are a fucking idiot. Because if you were to write that with parentheses, it would go:

(Yeah, and I don't know what you mean by) those people (but we're going to have a hard time here.)

If these people wrote the programming code for world banks or air plane control computers, our country would be in chaos. I'm not even a grammar-Nazi about anything else, just this one particular thing.

What is your pet peeve, so to speak? It could be about anything.

I hate stupid made up words like 'staycation'.
Why can't people just say "We went to Tucson for the weekend."?

I also hate when people abbreviate words in conversation, such as 'convo', 'inspo', or 'yolo'.

Let's see. From the top of my head:

- People who eat with their mouths open and make slapping noises
- People who borrow my stuff and never put it back where they found it once done
- People who constantly shitpost on social media
- People who spend most their time taking selfies on nights out rather than enjoying the real world
- People who are casual fans of wrestling but make the loudest noise
- People who walk slowly or stop suddenly
- People not say thank thank you when you've moved out the way for them or held a door open
- People who are homeless people who act like you owe them something
- People who beg for money for charities and won't take the hint when you say no.
- People who play loud music while in public
- People who have their phone glued to their face when you're talking to them

That's all for now.

The tried and true "your instead of you're" always gets me (or anything like it, really). Also, people saying "irregardless" or "I didn't do nothing" tends to make me think they're an idiot from that point onward. I generally roll my eyes at people citing IQ as a means of proving their worth, as well... It's especially annoying when the people who do it tend to be objectively stupid or unsuccessful.

I agree with SusanGreenEyes on those things too.

Does this include in a car? Because I'm guilty of that one. I don't have my bass so obnoxious that it sounds like my spoiler and windows are going to fall apart (I like to EQ my stuff to perfection, I even made a topic about that a few days ago), but I do have my music as loud as I can, subwoofers and all, with the T-Tops off and windows down, even at a stop light.

Absolutely. The rest of the world doesn't want to hear that plus you can't be that concerned with road safety if you have that music so loud as you won't hear anything other than your music.

I can't hear anything over the sound of my headers if I'm over 2300RPM, not even someone talking in the seat next to me, so me and the late wife upgraded the heck out of the stereo so we could hear our music over the car. I hear what you're saying, though.

Turn your windows up and put the T-Tops on. That'll help I would think.

No A/C. But, I suppose if I get that fixed, that would be a pretty good idea.

idk, staycation is a pretty useful term, especially because in the most proper usage a staycation involves staying at your home and daytripping elsewhere. Therefore a staycation wouldn't be "going to Tucson for the weekend" (and anybody who used it as such is an idiot) since they weren't actually staying there. The context of remaining at home is kinda important.

(Also I like "convo" as an abbreviation for conversation.)

Nothing wrong with that. Even more so if you're watching in person. However getting chants from casual folk when sat in a bar watching a main PPV at 12AM - 4AM in the morning is irksome.

Then I wouldn't bother talking to them in the first place as they are clearly busy. I was more referring to when you're in conversation with them and then their attention goes to their phone more than you constantly.

Some of them, in no particular order:

-When people cough into their hands instead of their elbows/handkerchiefs while around other people.
-When people don't wash their hands after relieving themselves.
-When people lick their fingers to turn a page.
-When people leave their shopping carts in the parking lot.
-When people don't use their turn signals.
-When people swear as part of their normal conversations.
-Political-correctness
-The crackle/break that women make in their voices when they're trying to sound alluring, specifically in commercials.
-When singers scoop their notes too frequently

People that have the bass turned all the way up in their cars.

People that dont cover their mouth when they cough.

People that spread pseudoscience and other forms of contagious misinformation.

I've heard a lot of people use the term 'staycation ' to mean that they travel by car and take a day trip to another town in their state that's a few hours away.
