I really doubt that rumor. if nintendo were already finalizing a NTSC version of xenoblade, they wouldn't have phrased that facebook message that way. that has been a PR nightmare for them
They explicitly said "never say never". It was a glorified maybe, as it has always been.
Hell, maybe the decision was brand new. The EU release went from announcement before any localisation work had been done, to being ready for release in just a few months.

At least two people have been fired as a result of OP rainfall
Good to see Nintendo's response to this isn't "maybe there is a demand here...", but instead "someone needs to lose their livelyhood over all this noise".

It's only a colossal F up if they actually did have plans, if they told him to put something up to break the news to us gently well...what did they expect? Aside from lying(again), there was no way that announcement wasn't going to be met with rage.

The NoE guy I do understand though seeing as he obviously broke his non-disclosure agreement...several times. Though while I understand the forced retirement there, it makes me think even worse of Nintendo that they wanted to sweep the game under the rug without ever actually telling us that it had been canned.

Which they obviously did. So he dun goofed and lost his job for it. Not hard to understand.
Unconfirmed, I'll believe it when I see it. For now we have two confirmations that the game isn't coming to America from official sources and one rumor that it is from an unidentified source. How can you say it's "obvious"?

Because the confirmations were partially debunked and never straight up "it isn't coming". So I'm assuming that yes, NoA called NoJ and worked out the details for the localization, as it is the most logical thing given the circumstances.

The guy who made that message got fired. So yeah.
wait, you mean the one who made Nintendo's facebook/twitter post about the whole deal?
interesting. I knew about the NoE guy "retiring" but not this.
