I anti-recommend vvvvvv and magicka. They're good, but not good enough compared to the others.

Recommend Torchlight, big time. Got about 70 hours out of that. Then again, it's more fun when you're like super-hyped for Diablo 3 and buy it full price. Games aren't as fun on sale.

I'm playing through Trine now and it has been fun so far

Torchlight is fantastic
I played VVVVVV straight through
Braid was meh for most of it but now I look back at it fondly as a fantastic game (that you should get)
Is Killing Floor indie? It's definitely fun.

I got Torchlight already, that and Defense Grid constitute my only two purchases. (Although these from like 2009 or something, the holiday sale then. >_>)

I kinda want to get most of the other recs upon looking at a few google videos, but I'm probably going to wait a little bit until they are featured.

anti double plus mega opposite recommend everything mentioned to counter everything.

really, every game mentioned has some merit to it. most of these are fairly easy with a lot of optional harder things. for instance, super meat boy has a light world and a dark world version of every level, every level also having time requirements to get an A+ rank. factor in warp zone levels and you have a BUNCH of levels. also user made levels. throw in some smooth controls and it is a fun experience all around. painful and rage inducing at times, but in a fair fun manner.
