just played ghost trick and really liked it... not of the same caliber as the first as phoenix wright game in terms of writing, but still very entertaining.
anyway, time for a new recommendation from you folk.

This is going to sound like an incredibly obvious recommendation for the DS so don't hate me but Pokemon is pretty good about small time investments visibly advancing the game as far as RPGs go. If you're not into that kind of thing then that's cool but I'm thinking about how it doesn't take long to advance to the next town and such. Keeps the flavor going.
Of course, that's for the main game. But I don't usually pour more than a couple dozen hours into postgame with that series anymore because I love changing atmospheres and whatnot.

i beat pokemon pearl (elite four a few times) and was pretty disappointed. i got about 4-5 gyms into pokemon white and really liked it - felt a lot fresher. guess i should try to get that game back but it's a few hundred miles away at the moment.
anything else?

Jeff Zero has a point, especially where Black and White versions are concerned.
Let's see, "small time investment can visibly advance the game"? Trace Memory (or Another Code, depending on your region) is a pretty good game that can be beaten in about two hours, although it's unlikely you'll finish it that quickly on your first playthrough. (Reasons for replaying: unless you're using a guide, you're unlikely to get the best ending on your first playthrough.) Of course, from what I heard, one of the puzzles might become unnecessarily tough if you're playing on a newer model--explaining this would be a spoiler.

Ulti (in one of his Post-Contest Analyses): God of War turned a 5 hour deadlock into a total laugher Anagram: Oh God, Tidus and Yuna were involved?
Hard to describe. It's a sort of Phoenix Wright-ish adventure game (except less silly) where you wander around a hotel, trying to solve a mystery. Really good stuff

We are thought, and reality, and concept, and the unimaginable
Yeah, Hotel Dusk is an adventure game where you solve a mystery in a hotel basically. The puzzles are pretty lame, but the characters, writing, and localization are absolutely top notch and it has a really neat visual style. It's a much less goofy and much more sedate game than the PW games are, but it's still worth playing for its storytelling.
