back then Capcom announced it wasn't approved for release along with both MML's due to the contracts of the voice actors.

BoF4 gets away with it because it has japanese voice acting

Is BoF4 actually good? I mean, I have it on actual disc but I probably won't ever played it. BoF3 was pretty bad.

BoF3 was amazing! I like 4 too, but I don't have it on PS1 anymore like I do for 3, so I might get this.

For god's sake, I'm sick of all these legal things tying up old releases of games, TV shows, music, etc. Some judge somewhere needs to say that "if this was released okay at THIS time, it's okay now, all contracts be damned", or Congress needs to pass a law, or something. Why aren't we marching on Washington for THIS, instead of marching so that Congress doesn't raise millionaires' taxes to pay for sick people's health care?

BoF4's a pretty typical mid tier RPG. Most of it's fairly similar to 3, but it has more direction to it and while it's a bit padded out near the end it isn't quite as bad as BoF3 constantly kicking you in the balls (going through all that BS to fix the lighthouse to get a boat, only to force you to walk to your destination anyway, all the BS about making sushi and reprogramming the boat to take you across the sea only for the first thing that happens to you when you get there is being teleported back to the mainland for more filler events/dungeons, purposely giving you incorrect directions for crossing the Desert of Death, etc.). The characters are kinda on the bad side but the story is pretty good for the most part with a few pretty unsettling/disturbing scenes and it has one of the most despicable villains ever.

It got hit a bit hard with censorship though. I can understand toning down the violence in one scene a bit to keep the rating down, but some of it's just weird. Namely changing one character from joining the party because he's too drunk to be aware of his surroundings to being too timid to speak up against the rest of the party.

One of the very few PS1 games I still have left. BoF3, BoF4, and FFT. Still got the discs :D
