Ahh, Xenogears. Say what you will about its undeniable flaws, it remains my favorite video game to this day. I hope ExTha takes the time to notice that Citan Uzuki "tinkering with his junk" is a peculiar statement. I hope he outfits his Gears with equipment that increases Response at the expense of Defense. Most of all, I hope he truly enjoys that super-muchacho item Big Joe will let him see for a paltry sum of just 5000G.

I once beat this game using only triangle as an attack button

my Fei never learned a deathblow - the highest he got was 80% for Fukei thanks it being four triangles and one x
