I bought the HD rerelease a few days ago, made it partway through the factory level, and it's just been terrible so far. Sloppy controls, boring combat, horrendous forced stealth, stupid "puzzles", a silly cliche story, AND in the few hours I've played I've already hit a glitch that forced me to reload my last save. Where's the appeal, here?

Terrible? I didn't think it was anything amazing, but I can't see how anyone would find it terrible. It's a fun game.

"Terrible" was probably a bit of an exaggeration on my part, since that glitch is still fresh in my mind and that kind of thing drives me crazy (I fell through the floor and was stuck in blank space at the bottom of the level). But every aspect of the game so far seems to be a poor imitation of some other game, and I was expecting a lot more from the story, given the title and the praise I've heard for it.

I think it does. I just beat it two years ago and thought it was fantastic.

I thought it was a solid game 4 years ago. Maybe that's not the same now, but eh. It's definitely overrated by people though.

Black Turtle did a pretty good job.

I liked it when it came out but the camera controls are pretty bad nowadays and that stealth section is pretty inexcusable.
