the best thing you can say about MK9 is that it was somehow the most balanced game there. the top 8 had eight different characters. the most powerful character won, yeah, but it was a huge struggle.

I was rooting for REO so badly, but taking Perfect Legend to the brink isn't bad at all. Apparently he needed some financial help getting out there, but hopefully next year he'll be back for the prize.

Daigo's showing kinks? dude's best in the world. getting mind****ed for one tournament -- no matter how jarring it was -- doesn't mean he's over the hill.

Daigo has been looking mortal ever since Marn struck him down at season's beatings in October last year. No, Daigo hasn't become middle of the pack, but people are still getting used to the idea of him not winning everything by default. Whether it's him losing his edge or just the rest of the world starting to get better, I can't say.

we're getting better. Japan coming here and us going there is making us better. it's really great for the game too. we have a top tier of players who can hang with anyone. Japan just has more, and they have way more matchup experience. it's so damn obvious when you watch guys like Daigo and Tokido go to work. Tokido vs. Art's Rose a few months ago was an embarrassing beatdown due to Tokido's knowledge.

Eh, I blame the character more than the player. Fei Long is really boring even when he's not as ridiculously good as he is in AE. Fuudo's Fei isn't any more boring than anyone elses, it just feels that way because he was dominating more exciting players who played much more exciting characters.

4. Never Give Up -- MVC3 edition



This is basically the equivalent of the BIONIC ARM moment - no life vs. 2 characters, no x-factor. This is better because A.) it was at Ev and B.) it wasn't because Richard Nyugen was dropping things left and right. Wong's demon is great and then he just flat out outplayed him at the end. Getting the last 60% all at once kinda cheapens it, but hey, that's Marvel.

I think the amount of comebacks on MvC just cheapen the excitement of it.

That comeback would've been a lot better if Richard Nyugen was the dude pulling the comeback. Who's actually ever rooting for Wong in MvC3.

I think he's a joke in AE though, so it's better he doesn't make it to the finals only to choke and hand the money over.

So do they have any kind of tournaments at E3?

I saw your topic wondering why they don't have more tourneys, and E3 seems like it could be the proper place for a big one. I know E3 has become "game companies telling game media what they want them to tell gamers" and not really a gamer/fan event, but some tournaments there with all eyes on it? that seems like a great idea.
