I don't know if anyone here is familiar with any season of True Blood, but wow, this season is just horrible. Seasons 1 and 2 were actually really well written, 3 dipped a bit, but 4 is just terrible.
I liked the show better when it was just humans and vampires. Then they added werewolves, then they added werepanthers, then they added fairies and witches. There's just WAY too much stupid crap on this show now, and that's hardly the worst part.
They've just ruined the main character, Sookie, by turning her into some kind of sex-craved maniac. I don't think she's done anything at all this season except screw around with magically-nice-guy Eric. I get it, show, they like eachother now. I don't need to see it in every single episode, though.
The only good storyline this season is with the demon baby.
Ya know, I like Bill more now than I ever have when he was with Sookie. I like how disconnected he seems from the rest of this lame season, like he has nothing to do with it hahaha.
I know that one of the privileges of working for HBO is getting to show sex scenes, and I know it's insane that anyone would ever complain about seeing Anna Paquin naked, but they really just got carried away this season. If it's not pushing the plot forward at all, I say forget it. It's just a waste of time.
I'm not going to feel at all sad when Sookie and Eric break up for whatever reason, not gonna feel bad if someone like Tara, the werewolf guy, or Lafayette's gay friend die, not gonna care what happens to Merlott's little brother. The stuff with Hoytt and Jessica is still interesting, I admit.
Russell interrupts the news broadcast to make his announcement. That is, bar none, the best scene the show has produced. That said I've only watched the first half of the first episode of this season and I don't really care to continue. I think I'm over the show.

I want to be over it... but it's just so unlike me to stop watching a show I've already invested so much time in. Part of me always wants to see if it can recover and part of me wants to see just how badly it falls.
You're not missing much by not seeing this season, though.
Yeah, I was like that with LOST. I was actually one of the last people to concede that the show had become nonsensical, but by the end it was a matter of me having already watched five seasons and figuring I might as well see how it all turns out.
