Now, this video is a nonlinear story line so I’m gonna do my best to put this in a way that makes sense. Gaga is returning to Nebraska in a bionic exoskeleton. She has been morphed into a machine for the sake of perfection as seen fit by the world and possibly other men. She is returning to the man who once upon a time tried to force her to change herself or perfect herself. Now mermaids represent a duality in nature( half human and half fish) and Gaga has said she lives in half fantasy and half reality. It appears that the man was changing her from mermaid to human. He was erasing the part that was fantasy and tried to force a full existence of reality on her. The bionics show injury from this. She left him, for no clear reason. Here’s where Jo comes in. Gaga appears alone with Jo in a cornfield and at a piano. This is Gaga alone with herself (meant many different ways). She is free and alive with herself and her piano (the most treasured artifact in Gaga mythos). And the “Gaga on Gaga action” represents self-love, the ultimate thing required for a lasting relationship.
