Relative to how strong he used to be, will his decline be as bad? Did legends 3 cancellation and MVC3/UMVC3 omittion seal the deal? Id probably take charizard over him.
It kind of depends on who he gets put up against. In a 1v1 battle, I'd give it to Mega Man, but if we're talking Xstats, I'm not sure I'd trust either to beat Vincent, Charizard, or Sora.
Someone wrote him a feedback ticket about it, and he said if he had planned to cancel the contests, he would have made an official announcement about it, so there is a contest in the works.

Id take him over Sora easily after seeing him get owned by Bowser. KH3 can only save him now. Would you take MM over Crono?

How long ago was that? I'm wondering if it's something stupid, like him having to wait for the green light from cnet.
Crono vs. MM is a toss-up to me. I'd take either of them over Vincent; FFVII has taken a bit of a dive recently.
Either of them would defeat Sora handily. Charizard scares me a bit, but I'd feel pretty good with Crono/MM still. I'd take Charizard over Sonic, and probably Vincent/Squall/Auron though I'm not sure about them anymore with Square's recent decline.
I'd probably take Crono over MM still, though I'd expect a 52/48. They're both fading into obscurity pretty quickly, and if Capcom doesn't even have enough faith to put him into the biggest fanservice crossover game there is, and just try vaguely to give him a popularity boost, I can't really trust him to beat a Super Saiyan.
I'm not sure about Sonic. Out of all of them, he's the only one whose stock really has the potential to rise in the near future with the good reception of Sonic Colors and the near release of Sonic Generations, but he was probably the weakest of the three last year.

Yeah, that's my reasoning. Sephiroth got owned. What about Sonic vs MM/Crono? As for Charizard.. Damn. I hate to say it, but he may be above all 3 bottom N9. At least go 50/50.
From: red sox 777 | #019 Crono is stronger than he was in 2007
I don't know if this is true, actually, considering we didn't actually get a good look at Crono in 2010, and it's possible Crono won a rematch with Vincent in 2008 because Vincent declined, not because Crono got stronger.
I think Crono drop might have been overexxagerated. He only had one match. I think he's stronger than MM, but below Sonic. He has colors/generations as mentioned. Much less trash games recently.
Link Snake(stronger than Mario on his own, but loses vs him) Mario(SMG2 probably helped) Cloud(FF7 should be decreasing each year, plus Cloud seems anti-vote prone) Samus(probably weakened by Other M backlash) Sephiroth(ultimate antivote character) Sonic(games have been better lately; if Generations gets great reviews, he may have a shot at Samus or Sephy) Mega Man(might be seen as dying) Crono(weakens every year, though CT release on VC might have helped a little)
I seriously, seriously doubt Other M is going to hurt Samus.
Seriously, the "backlash" is overblown. Anyone who liked Samus still does (because older games still exist!), and anyone who didn't wouldn't have voted for her anyways. Hell, she might have even attracted a new, different kind of audience.
MML3 cancellation, if anything, proves Mega Man is still popular. Unpopular characters aren't talked about, and no one rages about their exclusion/cancellation. It's a missed opportunity for a boost sure, but it's not worse than getting nothing.
Frog did a bit better in 2008 than 2007 against Samus, and a bit better than that in 2010 against Bowser. Magus certainly did badly in 2010, but he got 27% against Mario in 2007, which extrapolates to worse than 42% against Alucard in 2010.
this topic further convinces me that we need Sonic/MM again this year (in our contest which will totally be announced next week). that's a 50-50 to me because of how this year has gone for both series.

I'd take Mega Man over Crono back in 2006, and any Capcom hate is because of Mega Man getting screwed, so he isn't going to get anti-voted from that. Meanwhile, Crono is another year+ older from last contest. I'd sooner take Vincent/Squall/Tifa over Crono than Crono over any of the Noble Nine.
I can vouch that the MML3 fiasco kinda renewed my interest in the guy. I barely thought about Mega Man before that, but now I kinda want to dig up some games and play 'em. I doubt there are many who feel the same way, but I also doubt there aren't ANY.

Remember how the Leno/Conan debacle helped Conan receive a ton of grassroots support? I think Mega Man will benefit in a similar way. It seems to me like Capcom's extremely poor treatment of the guy has only increased the passion people have for him.
I'd take him over Crono without a second thought. Sonic too.
