Also, statistically speaking it is more likely that there is more better music these days as there are more people alive and more people making music. Naturally this will mean there is more crap, and much more mediocrity, but also more greatness. Tons more new genres too.

SOAD had a somewhat original first album, after that it was repetitive and nu metalish. I never understood their popularity in the same way I never understood why Korn or Godsmack were popular.

In other words you don't like the genre so aren't fit to judge them.

I like all tool albums but the last two, but I just dont like anything that is constantly repetitive.
