One Piece is good enough to start at anytime.

Anime is more enjoyable IMO, but it's up to you.

Alright, I'm seeing that all the episodes are on Hulu. Maybe I'll invest some time into that. That is a lot of time, though...

It got good again today! Hodi is just a terrible villain. I will admit that the beginning of Fishmen island is really boring. Also, I believe Oda said that he just passed the midway point at around the end of the Whitebeard war arc. So there's probably around 400-500 chapters left.

When I was watching the War arc, there were episodes that only have 5 minutes of animation and the rest were just reaction shots and people staring at each other. No idea if that's how it was when the anime first started >_>

I heard it was halfway over at Skypiea. Also heard he wanted to go to at least 100 volumes. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes another 10 years :/

Anime started getting lazy soon after it went HD before Thriller Bark. For the optimal experience, anime until the end of Ennies Lobby, then manga.

Thriller Bark and Saboady (however you spell it) Archipelago were flawlessly done in the anime I'd say.

I still love the anime, but yeah the Whitebeard war arc had a lot of slow episodes. I just let the show pile up for months than marathon arcs and whatnot, it goes best that way I'd say.

With Bleach and Naruto, I managed to watch the anime until a certain point, and then switched to the manga afterwards. Considering doing that.
