They've only been really showing off one area, and one of the big draws of the game is that it contains no load times and every single are is connected.

Is the game's (or Demon's Souls) soundtrack anything like that trailer song?

No. Well, not Demon's Souls. I hardly doubt Dark Souls soundtrack will be anything like that in game as well.

Not even a little bit. That's pure advertising.

I think the challenge aspect will be interesting in how they approach it. Certainly bosses will be tough. Certainly normal mobs will be tough. That's all expected. But coming in as a DS vet who actually dabbled pretty well in the PvP environment as well as PvE, I'm certainly coming in knowing how to play with caution. Also, unless they change something drastically, I'll also have a distinct edge in knowing how to level myself up, and how to get the best of the weapons I find.

While mastering Demon's Souls was one of the more thrilling and enjoying experiences of my gaming career, it's sad to think I won't be starting out clueless again, having to learn through baby steps.

With this release, they should also give us some type of memory altering device so we can start fresh. :D

I suck pretty bad at DS, don't understand half of the mechanics, and I'm basically just playing through at my leisure. It's fun, but tough as nails, and I haven't dabbled much in PvP (because I know I'd get wrecked). I've beaten worlds 2-4, and the King of World 1 crushed me the last time I played, so I think I'm going to go to 5-2 and go through that stuff before trying W1 out again.

Actually the only people that wouldn't get caught by a trap like that first time around are people who know to play cautiously, aka DS vets. Over confidence is just a dumb play.
